Robot introduction model plan for industry with labor shortage Considered by industry, government and academia November 12, 1:17

A public-private special work team was created with the participation of countries and major companies to promote the spread of robots, and we decided to consider a model plan for introducing robots at retail and restaurants where labor shortages were particularly serious. .

This special work team will include the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and more than 20 companies and universities that already use robots, such as Toyota, AEON, Kewpie, and Mitsubishi Estate.

Although the labor shortage has become serious in the restaurant and other industries, the spread of robots has not progressed due to complicated operations and high costs.

For this reason, the special work team will consider sharing the work and communication standards of the robot as much as possible to reduce costs.

On top of that, we are aiming to put together a model plan for the introduction of robots targeting the three fields of retail / restaurant, food, and facility management within the fiscal year.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry says, “We want to build a foundation for companies that struggle with labor shortages to introduce a wide range of robots.”
