The forecast for 2020 is also adjusted. Now the EC expects the growth of the Russian economy at 1.4% compared with 1.8%.

The decrease in estimates is taking place against the backdrop of a global recession. Thus, the European Commission lowered its forecast for global GDP growth for the current year to 2.9%, and for the next one to 3.0%.

Earlier, the International Monetary Fund and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development also worsened forecasts for Russia.
