Send photos to get the perfect size AI automatic measuring service expands at 7:05 on November 7

There are an increasing number of people buying clothes online, but the problem is not sure if it is the right size. Then, when you send a whole body photo from your smartphone, AI = Artificial Intelligence automatically measures your body shape, and a service that chooses the right size clothes is spreading.

A major department store, Isetan Mitsukoshi, launched a service to purchase men's custom shirts on a smartphone site last month.

When the whole body is photographed and transmitted from the front and side with the camera of the smartphone, the body is measured based on the image data for 100,000 people accumulated by AI, and the size suitable for the person is found.

This saves you the trouble of going to the store and trying on clothes, and also reduces the cost of stocking, which means it can be made about 40% cheaper than an order shirt of the same quality.

The department store plans to expand this service to suits next spring.

Mr. Tatsuya Yokoyama of Isetan Mitsukoshi Digital Division says, “I want to offer a service that even beginners can enjoy casually, and in the future I would like to be a customer who can also come to stores.”

A service that uses AI to automatically measure the size of UNIQLO, a major clothing chain, will start from September through online sales via a smartphone dedicated app, and is likely to expand in the future.
