TOSHIBA IoT system is released. New service development through cooperation with 100 companies November 5th 17:05

As competition for the development of services using so-called “IoT” technology intensifies, Toshiba opens its “IoT” system and works on the development of new IoT services with about 100 companies and organizations such as Softbank. It was decided.

This was announced at a press conference held by Toshiba in five journals. The company released the company's “IoT” system to other companies and organizations, and in the spring of next year, combined various products using IoT to create the next generation. It is supposed to establish a mechanism for developing services.

In addition to major companies such as Softbank and Kyocera, more than 100 companies and organizations such as venture companies and universities are expected to participate in the corporate alliance led by Toshiba.

By utilizing this mechanism, for example, a new service such as a smartphone that can be used to monitor the opening and closing of doors for elderly people, or a sensor that detects water droplets on the floor to help prevent water leaks. It means that development can be expected.

With regard to IoT, the competition to create efficient services by exchanging various data obtained from home appliances, smartphones, production facilities, etc. is growing fiercely. There is an aim to operate and take advantage.

Taro Shimada, Managing Director of Toshiba, says, “I want to create a system that allows various companies to participate openly in order to create a world where many people can feel IoT.”
