As hundreds of thousands of Iranians marched across the country to mark the 40th anniversary of the US embassy that had broken off diplomatic relations between Tehran and Washington, Iran announced an acceleration of its program nuclear.

According to nuclear program chief Ali Akbar Salehi, Iran has installed a chain of 30 IR-6 centrifuges, which are up to 10 times faster than the old IR-1s.

This decision came in response to the exit of the United States from the nuclear deal in May 2018 and the return of US sanctions that hit hard the Iranian economy.

It is also a response to the inaction of Europeans who had promised to take steps to offset US economic sanctions.

As part of the nuclear deal, Iran pledged to limit its uranium enrichment program and only use old IR-1 centrifuges until 2024.

Iran is accelerating its uranium enrichment program. Tehran now produces 5 kg of enriched uranium at 5% for half a kilo two months ago.

Ten new and more modern centrifuge models have been developed in recent months, which will allow Tehran to further accelerate its enrichment program and is a clear answer to Washington.

Iran claims that its nuclear program is for civilian purposes only and rejects US accusations that it is seeking to make the atomic weapon.
