“Denmark pulled to the last, but naturally, this is a very positive strategic decision. Now the negotiation format with Ukraine is changing. There are still about five weeks to lay the pipe in the waters of Denmark. The pipelayer has already sold the entire offshore part except for this Danish section, ”he said.

The expert also noted that in connection with the decision of Denmark there is every opportunity to hand over the project before the end of 2019, as planned.

According to him, this is a big victory for Gazprom.

“Commissioning may take some time and the first gas will go not from January 1, but a little later. But the possible delay is measured by a maximum of weeks, ”said Pasechnik.

Earlier, the Danish Energy Agency issued a permit to lay the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline on the continental shelf of the country.
