He added that deliveries directly from Russia would be significantly cheaper than reverse supplies from Western Europe.

“This is practically the same Russian gas,” the head of Gazprom said.

According to Interfax, in turn, Medvedev said that the purchase of gas by reverse is the choice of Ukraine, it is their right.

“Although it is obvious that ordinary citizens of Ukraine suffer from this, it’s just consumers who purchase the same Gazprom gas, but, in fact, with a 25% premium,” the Russian prime minister said.

Earlier in Ukraine, they stated that they did not agree to extend the contract for gas transit for one year, since they intended to sign a long-term agreement.
