Korea's Samsung Electronics' operating profit for the three months to last month decreased by 56% compared to the same period of the previous year, and it seems that the slump in the semiconductors of its main business was affected. However, the business performance has improved since the previous three months, and the Korean media has expressed the view that the deterioration in business performance may have bottomed out.

South Korea's Samsung Electronics announced the provisional value of the financial results for the three months until last month.

According to it, sales were 62 trillion won (approximately 5,580 billion yen), a 5.3% decrease compared to the same period of the previous year.

Operating profit, which represents the main business, was 7.70 trillion won (approximately 690 billion yen), a significant decline of 56%.

This is because Korean media was affected by the slump in the main business of semiconductors. However, compared to the previous three months from April to June, the profit increased by 17%.

The Korean media have expressed their view that the deterioration in business results has bottomed out due to the strong performance of the display business and has entered a recovery phase.

On the other hand, the Japanese government has been concerned about the impact on business results due to the strengthening of export control to South Korea, but the Korean media have not confirmed the impact so far.
