Nine buses collect fare after tax increase before tax increase October 1 21:09

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, nine bus companies in the country mistakenly collected new fares after the tax increase before the consumption tax rate was raised.

There were nine bus companies that were wrong in collecting fares: JR Bus Kanto, Chiba Kaihin Kotsu, Kanagawa Chuo Kotsu, Izu Hakone Bus, Nishitetsu Bus Kitakyushu, Seibu Bus, Kyoto Keihan Bus, Nara Kotsu Keihin Express Bus. Both bus companies raised their fare in line with the increase in the consumption tax rate, but by the 30th, they took a new fare by mistake.

So far, six bus companies have reported to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism that the amount of mistakes collected is between 150 and 3000 yen.

JR Bus Kanto and Chiba Seaside Traffic are under investigation.
Keihin express bus means that the driver noticed the mistake and refunded it on the spot.

The reason is that the date of switching the system to the new fare is wrong, or that the fare was left as it was after the switch test.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism ordered the refund of the fare to the bus company that was mistakenly collected.
