An attack by the Islamic State terrorist group Sinai took place Friday (September 27th) against an army position in northern Sinai that left many dead and wounded. The balance sheets given by the two parties do not agree.

Amaq, the agency of the Islamic State terrorist group, first claimed that " the Caliphate soldiers " had attacked an army position in Bir al-Abd north of Sinai, halfway between the capital al-Arich and the Suez Canal. According to the agency, the attack killed about 15 soldiers, including an officer.

" Latest operations in Sinai "

In the evening the military spokesman issued a statement on "the latest operations in Sinai" with no indication of duration or date. He indicates that 10 soldiers, including an officer, were killed or wounded in operations while 118 takfirists, the name given to members of the Islamic State, had been " liquidated ".

Rise of violence

An escalation of violence that coincides with calls for a general revolt Friday against the power of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
