The school canteen can cost almost double depending on the city of residence. Families that live in the Balearic Islands or Catalonia, for example, have to pay twice as much as those residing in Asturias or the Canary Islands. This is revealed by the Spanish Confederation of Associations of Parents of Students (Ceapa) in its report on the School Menu for this course.

The prices of the menus in the schools were frozen last year after years of increases. This year almost all communities have maintained their prices, except some. The Canary Islands, for example, have raised prices by 6%, from 3.3 euros to 3.5.

In the case of the Balearic community, the most expensive, prices of 6.50 euros per child per day on average have been maintained. It is followed, at a high price, Catalonia, where this service costs 6.20 euros, just like last year.

On the contrary, the Canary Islands, Asturias and Ceuta, with three and a half euros per day of dining, have the cheapest prices.

There is a drop in Murcia, where the last course eating in the dining room cost 4.3 euros on average and now they are 4. Melilla, on the contrary, is the place where this service has risen the most, going from three euros last year at four that costs this one.
