Paul collapsed The recovery did not proceed until September 25, 18:15

Due to the impact of Typhoon No. 15, Ichihara City, Chiba, suffered damage such as a golf driving range pole collapsed and a dozen roofs broke down. Paul has not been removed even two weeks after the damage. Residents are worried about what will happen to compensation for housing.

The site is now

The iron pole that surrounds the driving range is 40 meters long. More than 10 of them fell into neighboring houses.

Last week, emergency measures were taken to pile up and support the timber to prevent the pole from falling further.

There are also cars that can't move because they are stuck in the pole.

Houses were damaged There are at least 16 buildings or more, but just more than two weeks, the prospect of recovery does not have standing.

Residents who were hit directly at home

In the house of Kengo Yuasa, the roof was hit directly by Paul, and the ceiling on the second floor collapsed.

(Mr. Yuasa) “At first, I heard a buzzing sound and thought that the ceiling flew in the wind. I didn't expect the iron pole to fall down.”

Yuasa was sleeping in the bedroom on the second floor with her wife and 4 months old son. After a strong shock and noise, the wife and his wife carried their son out of a crib buried in debris.

(Wife) “I thought it would be useless for a moment because I panicked in the dark”

As the sun goes by, the collapsed pole is said to have spread the damage of Yuasa's home. Gradually, the steel frame digged into the house, and the ceiling of the living room on the first floor fell 3 days ago.

Yuasa has lived in this house since her childhood and inherited it from her parents. Now, this house is in a rainy condition because the pole is not removed and the blue sheet cannot be applied.

Yuasa decided to live away from her wife and son because she had to clean up home furniture and appliances.

Compensation for housing

Two weeks after the disaster. Even now Paul is not removed, and it is not decided what will happen to the compensation of the house.

Mr. Yuasa feels that the explanation about compensation at the driving range has not been consistent since the damage occurred. Last week, the residents decided to remove the collapsed poles, so the residents wanted to explain the schedule and construction method.

NHK applied for coverage with a lawyer at the driving range, but there was no response by the deadline.

Looking for temporary housing

Yuasa is starting to look for a temporary home.

The city will subsidize the rent for a maximum of one year, but there will be no worries about what to do if your home is not ready to live after one year.

Can you regain your life with three families? The outlook remains unclear.

(Mr. Yuasa) "Isn't it the life of three family members? Sometimes it's enviable to play with three parents and children on the roadside. I want to live together soon. I want to return to my original life."
