Boeing reached an amicable agreement with eleven families on the Lion Air flight, including a 737 MAX crashed off Indonesia in 2018. The Indonesian authorities continue to blame the piloting errors, as well as the construction of the device causing the crash.

Eleven of the 17 families represented by the law firm in charge of the case will be compensated by Boeing following the Lion Air flight crash . The American manufacturer has agreed to pay $ 1.2 million per victim. Chicago-based Wisner Law Firm, which specializes in civil aviation cases, is optimistic about paying six more families.

The lawsuits pile up for the American manufacturer. A hundred complaints were filed in the Chicago Federal Court. They concern the crash that took place off the Java Sea, but also another flight, that of Ethiopian Airlines involving the same plane 737 MAX, last March. As a result of this disaster, all aircraft of this type have been grounded around the world, and have not flown since.

As for the Indonesian authorities, they presented the preliminary conclusions of a report which should be officially published in early November. According to this report, the Lion Air accident resulted from a series of piloting errors and maintenance issues.
