Pig cholera pharmaceutical company rushed to increase vaccine production September 25, 7:05

In order to prevent the spread of swine cholera infection, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, which has decided to allow preventive vaccination, requested several pharmaceutical companies to increase vaccine production. In response, pharmaceutical companies are in the process of increasing production and rushing to prepare for the shipment of stored vaccines.

Of these, Matsuken Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Koganei City, Tokyo, manufactures swine fever vaccine for overseas and domestic stockpiling.

According to the company, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries requested that the vaccine be increased on the 18th of this month.

For this reason, the company is preparing to produce about 2 million new vaccines, and is urgently working to immediately ship about 500,000 stored vaccines.

Mr. Kenji Matsuoka, president of Matsuken Pharmaceutical Industry, says, “We will do our best to produce vaccines so that we can spread the vaccine smoothly to the prefecture where the swine cholera occurs and its neighboring prefectures.”
