The Brussels public prosecutor has started a judicial investigation into Dominique Leroy, who will be KPN's new CEO from December, De Tijd reports Thursday based on insiders. Leroy is now the CEO of telecom company Proximus. The investigation would revolve around the misuse of inside information when trading in Proximus shares.
The Leroy home and Proximus headquarters were allegedly searched. The public prosecutor's office in Brussels has only informed De Tijd that there is an investigation into Leroy, but has not confirmed the content.
According to the Belgian medium, this is a suspicious stock transaction from last August. Leroy then earned 285,342 euros with the sale of a package of Proximus shares.
KPN announced in early September that Leroy would be the company's new CEO.
