According to the Japan National Tourism Organization, the number of Korean tourists who visited Japan last month was estimated at 308,700, a 48% decrease compared to the same month last year, almost halved.

As a result, the total number of foreign tourists who visited Japan was estimated to be 2,252,100, a decrease of 2.2%.

The number of foreign tourists decreased for the first time in 11 months since last September, when disasters such as typhoons and Hokkaido earthquakes occurred one after another.

The number of tourists from South Korea decreased by 7.6% in July, but in August, the decline was greatly expanded, and the impact on tourism due to worsening relations between Japan and South Korea became clear.
