Israelis vote on Tuesday, September 17 for general elections, for the second time in 2019 since no coalition government could be formed after the polls last April. The continuation or the end of the Benyamin Netanyahu period is the most palpable issue of these elections. And among the right-wing parties that want to renew a coalition led by the outgoing head of government is Yamina, a list of nationalist religious parties, but at the head of which is a secular woman Ayelet Shaked.

with our special correspondent in Tel Aviv, Nicolas Falez

This weekend, the terraces of the cafes on Dizengoff Street are crowded. We are here in the middle of Tel Aviv laic and gladly festive. Suddenly Ayelet Shaked appears. She is in campaign. Red dress, black hair, she goes from table to table for short discussions and lots of selfies.

The welcome remains polite in this city rather anchored on the left and in the center. Seduction operation therefore on the part of the candidate, head of Yamina list which means "right" in Hebrew.

" For us, it's a revolutionary ," says David, one of Yamina's activists in Tel Aviv. Yamina's program is to try to take Benyamin Netanyahu on his right. If he wins, it all depends on who he will walk with: on the right or on the other side? "

To incite Benyamin Netanyahu to govern ever more to the right, is the goal of the former Minister of Justice, Ayelet Shaked, 43 years old. Secular but head of the list of a nationalist-religious party, sometimes messianic, partisan of the colonization and the annexation of most of the Palestinian territories. His opponents see Ayelet Shaked as a danger to democracy, especially because of his attacks on the Israeli Supreme Court .
