"Jupiter Telecom" partners with "Netflix" September 4, 19:55

Cable TV's largest "Jupiter Telecom" announced that it will start distributing video content in partnership with the US video distribution service "Netflix". It's rare for cable TV to partner with a rival video distribution service.

Jupiter Telecom and Netflix have announced a partnership on the 4th.

Subscribers can watch video content by connecting a dedicated device to their home TV.

Netflix charges are paid through Jupiter Telecom.

In addition to this, the company wants to be able to watch content such as “DAZN”, which distributes sports videos for a fee, and “TVer”, which distributes TV programs for free for a certain period of time.

The goal is to capture the need to watch your favorite videos when you want to spread among viewers through partnerships.

For cable TV, video distribution services have been viewed as rivals for viewers, so it's rare for them to partner.

At the press conference, Jupiter Telecom President Kimihiko Imura stated, “I want to offer new viewing styles as young people move away from TV.”
