The yen exchange rate at 5 pm was 1 dollar = 106.25-27 yen, a 26 yen yen appreciation against the dollar compared to last weekend.
For the euro, 1 euro = 116.67-71 yen, which was 89 yen stronger against the euro compared to last weekend.
The euro was 1 dollar = 1.0981-83 against the dollar.
Market officials said, “Although the United States and China have decided to raise additional tariffs on each other and some have bought a relatively safe asset, the impact on price movements was limited.” .
