According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the wholesale price of the main vegetables at the Tokyo Central Wholesale Market was 22% higher than usual on the “Spinach” as of the 27th of this month.

On the other hand, “Cabbage”, which had risen this month due to the heat wave, only rose 3% and returned to normal. “Lettuce” is 21% cheaper than normal.
Regarding the prospects for the future wholesale price, “Spinach” is expected to return to the normal level during this month, and “Cabbage”, “Cucumber” and “Nasu” are expected to remain at the normal level next month.
In addition, “carrots”, “potatoes” and “onions” are expected to remain at a low level due to the good weather and good growth in Hokkaido, the main production area.
