It has become a major problem, businesses are finding it increasingly difficult to hire. Pôle emploi will put a lot of money to help employers recruit.
It's a chorus we've heard a lot at Medef meetings over the past two days, companies are finding it harder and harder to recruit. So, it's a little the world upside down. Pôle emploi will urgently release a very large workforce, 1,000 people by 1 January 2020, to advise companies and help them recruit. This is the new priority. Statistics from the Ministry of Labor show that, month after month, the number of positions in power in companies increases. We must go back before the crisis of 2008 to find a vacancy rate as high. It is a good omen for unemployment, it means that it has a good chance of continuing to fall.
Still need to find the right people to hire?
That's the whole problem. Here is an edifying figure: Pôle emploi estimates that in 2017, between 200,000 and 330,000 hires could not be made for lack of good candidates. In short, if these recruitment difficulties were better overcome, unemployment would fall much faster.
