Dubai International Airport received today the inaugural flight of China Eastern Airlines from Xi'an, opening a new route between Chinese cities and Dubai.
The Dubai Airports Corporation said in a statement that the airline will operate three weekly direct flights between Dubai and Xi'an as well as the Chinese cities of Shanghai Qingdao.
China is one of the UAE's leading trading partners and the fastest growing market in terms of the total number of passengers with Dubai airports, which exceeded 1.8 million Chinese passengers in the first half of 2019.
Dubai International Airport currently serves 247 destinations worldwide with more than 70 international airlines.
