China protests US over duties

Beijing opposed the US decision to increase the rate of import duties on products from China for a total of $ 550 billion. This was reported by TASS with reference to a statement by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce.

“On August 24, the American side announced that it would increase the rate of import duties on Chinese goods totaling $ 550 billion. The Chinese side is categorically against this, ”the report said.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the upcoming increase went to goods from China, which will be imported from September and October 2019.

He made such a decision in response to the decision of Beijing to introduce additional duties on the import of goods from the United States in the amount of $ 75 billion per year.
