The Irish Justice has blocked the pilots' strike in the country for Thursday and Friday, thus giving the reason to the low-cost airline, as announced by the court itself.

Ryanair immediately applauded the ruling that, they say, prevents "a minority of Irish pilots from striking." The airline is awaiting a decision of the British courts on another strike pilots in the United Kingdom planned for those same days.

The pilots of the airline based in Ireland had called a 48-hour strike from midnight on Thursday. They claimed salary improvements and working conditions but negotiations with the company had not prospered.

Irish workers are the only ones who rebel. Stoppages have been called in Portugal but the Government has established by decree minimum services on certain routes.

In Spain, the meeting between representatives of the cabin crew unions with Ryanair in the Interconfederal Mediation and Arbitration Service (SIMA) ended without agreement, so the 10-day strike announced for September remains.

The unions had called stoppages for days 1, 2, 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27 and 29 as a measure of protest over the closure of the Gran Canaria and Tenerife bases, starting in January, and the from Girona later. The company currently has 13 bases in our country and the strike is called on all of them.

The CEO of the airline, Michael O'Leary, already warned in July that there would be layoffs and closing of bases after announcing that the firm's profits fell 21% in the first quarter of its fiscal year, up to 243 million euros.
