The Irish pilots of the low-cost airline Ryanair, dissatisfied with their salary conditions, will strike for two days on August 22 and 23, announced their union, Forsa. Pilots employed directly by the company will be on strike for 48 hours from Thursday, August 22 at 0:01, which will coincide with a social movement already planned by British pilots Ryanair.

Negotiations with management failed

According to a spokesman for the Irish trade union Forsa, the pilots' representatives submitted detailed demands in March, calling for wage levels "routinely practiced in the commercial aviation sector", as well as on pensions and conditions. but negotiations with management failed. Ryanair has "recorded a significant profit of one billion euros last year," said the national secretary of Forsa, Angela Kirk.

Last week, British Ryanair pilots, members of the Balpa trade union, voted in favor of work stoppages on August 22-23 and September 2-4. Claims include wages, pensions and maternity benefits. Ryanair had to face a wave of protest and strike action in late 2017 and 2018 in Europe, concerning working conditions.
