In the first half of next year, regulations will be eased so that passenger cars and vans, such as the 9-seater Starex and Carnival, can be converted into campers.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism announced a plan to revitalize automobile tuning today and announced that it will revitalize the tuning market and create new jobs.

Currently, only 11-seater vans can be converted into camping cars, but they will be expanded to all models including passenger cars, vans and special vehicles.

The Ministry of Land and Communications expects the easing of regulations to create a new tuning market of 6,000 units annually and about 130 billion won annually.

It is also permitted to convert fire trucks and quarry vehicles into trucks and campers.

Currently, automatic and manual transmissions, tuning mufflers, and brake discs, which require prior approval, are exempt from the approval process and loosened only to be inspected.

We added three LED light sources, a light wheel cap, and an intermediary silencer to the tuning certified parts that can be installed without approval, and allowed 13 certified parts, such as headlights and wheels, to be certified as tuning parts.

We have also lowered the regulatory threshold for the production of small-sized cars, exempting some of the safety standards, such as converting a classic car into an electric car or making collisions and impact tests easier to produce handmade sports cars.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said that 56.8% of last year's tuning approvals will be exempted if the measure is implemented. Estimated to grow to 14,000.
