Donald Trump keeps up the pressure on the Fed. He repeated this Wednesday, August 7 in a long series of tweets that the US Central Bank must reduce its key rates " faster and stronger ."

It is in a violent diatribe that Donald Trump expresses his annoyance against the Fed which does not lower its interest rates enough. He writes, " Incompetence is terrible to see. "

According to him, the problem is not China, but the Fed which is " too proud to admit to having made a mistake by raising rates too fast and too high. "

.... proud to admit their mistake of acting too fast and tightening too much (and that I was right!). They must Cut Rates bigger and faster, and stop their ridiculous quantitative tightening NOW. Yield curve is at too wide a margin, and no inflation! Incompetence is a .....

For a year now, the American president has been in conflict with the Federal Reserve. He continues to criticize his President Jerome Powell , whom he himself named, despite the monetary easing gesture on 31 July.

The Fed has lowered its key rates by a quarter of a point to revive inflation and prepare the US economy for a slowdown in global economic activity.

This is not enough for Donald Trump who claims a bigger and faster decline. He recalled that several central banks, including those of India and New Zealand have recently lowered their rates.

These new attacks by the US President come in the wake of a Wall Street Journal column in which four former presidents of the Federal Reserve are asking to respect the independence of the Central Bank.
