The Korea Agriculture and Fisheries Food Distribution Corporation (aT) said Monday that Qingdao's Korea Agriculture and Fisheries Food Logistics Center had the highest utilization rate in four years.

The Qingdao Logistics Center, established by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Affairs in 2015, has a building area of 13,6969㎡ and can be stored at room temperature, refrigerated or frozen.

It is easy to store and distribute fresh products such as grapes, mushrooms and fresh milk, which are major export items.

Qingdao Logistics Center achieved an operating rate of 73.8% at the end of last year.

In 2015, the first year of operation, the warehouse received 7,744 tons, but last year it was 9,199 tons, up nearly 19% in four years.

Local import buyers using the distribution center have also increased from 10 to 30.

In addition, aT has set up a cold chain transportation network in 19 major cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, to support the export of inland agricultural products.

Shin Hyun-gon, director of aT Food Export, said, “The Qingdao Logistics Center will lead the expansion of exports to China as an export logistics hub for Korean agri-food.”
