The Financial Information Unit of the UAE announced today that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the General Directorate of Financial Investigations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to strengthen and develop anti-money laundering and terrorist financing policies.

The Governor of the Central Bank, Chairman of the National Committee for Combating Money Laundering, Combating Terrorist Financing and the Financing of Illegal Organizations, Mubarak Rashid Al Mansouri, Deputy Governor Saif Hadaf Al Shamsi, Acting Head of Financial Information Unit Ali Faisal Baalawi, received the Director General of Financial Investigation in Saudi Arabia, Atibi bin Khader al-Maliki, and the delegation accompanying him.

A meeting was held prior to the signing of the memorandum of understanding, during which the close relations between the UAE and Saudi Arabia were discussed, aiming at uniting efforts and continuing cooperation with the international community in matters related to countering money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism. Ali Faisal Al-Alawi and Brigadier General Atibi bin Khader Al-Malki signed the memorandum of understanding which aims to strengthen and strengthen cooperation between the two sides through the promotion and development of highways by providing a common framework for exchanging information and experiences in various fields of mutual interest.
