“Last week, the European Commission for Energy Union Maros Shefchovic sent letters to Moscow and Kiev with proposals to hold trilateral ministerial talks in Brussels on September 16 on the conditions of transit and gas supplies through Ukraine from January 1, 2020,” the source said.

According to him, the main topic of these negotiations will be "the proposal of the European Commission to sign a gas contract for 10 years from the beginning of 2020".

Earlier, the representative of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky in the government, Andrei Gerus, said that in the near future negotiations with Russia on transit and the purchase of gas will be resumed.

Expert Stanislav Mitrakhovich, in an interview with Nation News, said that Kiev would not be satisfied with a short-term contract with Moscow.
