The Persian Gulf is the scene of an incident between Iran and Britain. The scene was first reported by American television CNN, and confirmed Thursday, July 11 by London. Three Iranian gunboats have tried to prevent the passage of a British tanker, according to the spokesman of the government of the United Kingdom. The Royal Navy had to intervene alongside this merchant ship to repel the Iranian onslaught. This new incident comes in full crisis on the Iranian nuclear.

The Revolutionary Guards are categorical: there has been no confrontation with foreign ships, including British, during the last 24 hours. The elite army of the Iranian regime adds: " If we had been ordered to carry out such a mission, we would have done it immediately, decisively and quickly . "

For their part, officials in London are equally positive: the Iranian navy did try to block the passage of a British tanker and it took the intervention of the Royal Navy to solve the problem.

Tensions between London and Tehran began a few days ago in the Mediterranean Sea. The British navy boarded a tanker off Gibraltar carrying Iranian oil suspected of traveling to Syria in violation of a European embargo.

The President of the Islamic Republic Hassan Rohani then reacts quickly and warns: there will be consequences. Washington is now discussing the possibility of creating an international maritime coalition to ensure free movement in Gulf waters and the Strait of Hormuz, where nearly a quarter of the world's crude oil consumption passes.
