“The problem is technical in nature and is not related to issues that are discussed with the Belarusian partners in terms of relations in the oil and gas sector in the medium and long term,” the ministry said.

They added that the normalization of oil quality in the pipeline is expected in the near future.

Earlier, the Belarusian side asked PJSC Transneft to increase the supply of oil along the northern branch of the Druzhba pipeline due to the poor quality of the oil that is supplied via the southern branch to the Belarusian refineries.

On April 19, the press secretary of the Belneftekhim concern, Marina Kostyuchenko, announced a “sharp deterioration in the quality” of oil flowing through the pipeline from Russia.
