The consumer price inflation rate in the country fell on an annualized basis in March by 2.5% compared to the same month of 2018.
According to the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority, in its report "Inflation March 2019" issued today, covering the change in prices of 12 major consumer goods and services, the general index of 108.6 points in March, compared to about 111.4 points in March 2018.
The drop in annual inflation was due to a drop of 6.5% in the prices of housing, water, electricity and gas, while the prices of the transport services group decreased by 5.3%, the prices of the food and beverage group by 0.7%, while the prices of the health services group decreased slightly by 0.2% .
While clothing and footwear rose by 6.8%, promotion and culture by 4%, restaurants and hotels by 2%, equipment and household equipment by 1.8%, education group by 1.4% and communications group by 0.2%. The prices of miscellaneous commodities increased by 0.15%.
The report said that the rate of inflation fell in March compared to last month by 0.59%.
Water, electricity and gas by 1.2%, household appliances by 1.8%, recreation and culture by 0.9%, food and beverages by 0.5%, and stability of prices of 3 groups. There was no increase or decrease in health and education services While transport services group increased by 1.5%.
