The Chinese telecommunications group Huawei is still in the sights of the United States and it is now the US intelligence services that are involved. The CIA claims that Huawei is funded by the Chinese state security apparatus.
According to the British daily The Times , the CIA claims that Huawei receives funds from the People's Army of China, the National Security Commission and Chinese intelligence services. The US Central Intelligence Agency reportedly advised British, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand intelligence services, partners in the same network, Five Eyes.
The Chinese telecom giant says that these are unsubstantiated allegations that are not based on any evidence and that come from anonymous sources. But these claims further illustrate how the United States is trying to convince its allies that Huawei is an espionage tool for the Chinese authorities.
Charges are increasingly leaning against a backdrop of trade between Washington and Beijing . Huawei is already banned in the United States and its executives are being prosecuted, accused of violating the sanctions against Iran. But Huawei still hopes to conquer the 5G market in Europe.
Next month in Prague, the United States hopes to push its allies to take steps to prevent Huawei's domination of 5G . A new internet network that will expand the use of connected products, which could make it more vulnerable.
