She was upset and sad when she saw the report about Nilyufar in Mörrum. This prompted Agneta Khan from Malmö to contact the family and start a name fundraiser. – I thought it felt really hard and completely unthinkable. I was really shaken when I saw the feature.


The news of Nilyufar Amirbekova, who has Down syndrome and is to be sent back alone to his native Kazakhstan, has aroused great concern throughout the country.

Agneta Khan in Malmö was so touched by the story that she chose to contact the family in Mörrum and then start a petition for Nilyufar.

"I felt that we had to help each other. We must do everything we can and hopefully we can hand over the names to the Migration Agency and show that there are many of us who do not agree with this decision, says Agneta Khan.

Great support

In addition to Agneta's fundraiser, the family has also started a digital list of names. In total, the petitions were up to almost 10,000 names on Monday.
