The No. 1 Haneda Line of the Metropolitan Expressway has been closed since the 27th due to the replacement work of the bridge over the Tama River.
On the 29th, which was the first weekday after the road closure, the surrounding and nearby roads were more congested than usual, so the Metropolitan Expressway Company is calling for cooperation, such as avoiding daytime hours until the 10th of next month.
On the Metropolitan Expressway, due to the aging of the "High-Speed Daishi Bridge" connecting Tokyo and Kanagawa, work is underway to replace the existing bridge with a new bridge by sliding it entirely, and work is being carried out on the 29th.
Due to this construction, the Metropolitan Expressway has been closed all day from the 27th on the upper and lower lines between the Heiwajima entrance of the
▽ Haneda Line 1 and the Daishi entrance of the Kanagawa No. 1 Yokobane Line, and
the upper and lower lines between the Showajima Junction of the ▽ No. 1 Haneda Line and the Tokai Junction of the Expressway Bay Shore Line.
It is scheduled to last until 10 a.m. on the 5th of next month.
On the 29th, which was the first weekday after the road closure, the roads, including the general roads around the high-speed Daishi Bridge, were more congested than usual in the morning hours, and traffic congestion that is not usually seen on the eastbound between Daikoku Junction and Tokai Junction on the High-Speed Bay Coast Line, which is a loop, continues.
During the road closure period, some sections are expected to take five times longer than usual, and almost all lines are expected to be more congested than usual.
The Metropolitan Expressway Company is calling for cooperation in avoiding traffic jams, such as using public transportation and avoiding use during busy daylight hours.
