Suspected sex offender stayed at hotel south of Sundsvall with 14-year-old – then Anette raised the alarm

Highlights: A 30-year-old man from central Sweden is suspected of several serious sex crimes against eight girls. Seven of the girls were under the age of 15 when the suspected crimes were allegedly committed. The man allegedly booked a room at a hotel south of Sundsvall, where he took a 14-year old girl with whom he then spent the night. He is charged with, among other things, rape of a child on three counts, sexual abuse of a children on two counts and sexual molestation of aChild on four counts.

When the 30-year-old man came down to the hotel reception with a very young girl in company, the hotel staff sensed discouragement. "According to what they said, the girl looked to be 12-13 years old. They found it very uncomfortable, says hotel owner Anette Söderberg. She alerted both the police and the school, and later the man was arrested and the girl identified. Hear Anette's story here.


On Wednesday, the trial will start in Sundsvall District Court against the 30-year-old man from central Sweden who is suspected of several serious sex crimes against eight girls in the Sundsvall area, seven of whom were under the age of 15 when the suspected crimes were allegedly committed.

He is charged with, among other things, rape of a child on three counts, sexual abuse of a child on two counts and sexual molestation of a child on four counts.

Among other things, the man allegedly booked a room at a hotel south of Sundsvall, where he took a 14-year-old girl with whom he then spent the night.

When the man was forbidden to have an overnight guest when booking the room, he rebooked from a single room to a double room. The young girl arrived during the night, and it was not until the next morning that everything was discovered.
