The fire was located with the help of drones and the emergency services have started extinguishing work from two fronts. The rescue service units on site are from Borås, Hökerum, Fristad and Ulricehamn. The forecast from the emergency services now is that there will be a longer operation.
"But it's problematic because it's windy a lot today and it's dry in the forest and fields, so the conditions are less good," says Caroline Olausson, communications officer at Särf.
She continues that there are a lot of staff on site and that at present the size of the fire is estimated to be 400 by 400 meters. They have also requested support from MSB's aircraft with the extinguishing work.
– They are preparing that resource now, so we hope that it will come to us during the afternoon, says Caroline Olausson at 15.30.
