Zakharova: Russia appreciates China's willingness to contribute to the settlement of the crisis in Ukraine

She said this in an interview with RIA Novosti. On April 26, Chinese President Xi Jinping had a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Beijing will send a special representative of the Chinese government for Eurasian affairs to Ukraine and other countries to hold consultations on a political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis. The former Chinese ambassador to Russia, Li Hui, will lead a special delegation to Ukraine.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, commenting on China's intention to create a delegation to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, stressed that Moscow appreciates Beijing's willingness to contribute to resolving the conflict through diplomatic means.


She said this in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Zakharova stressed that Beijing takes an unbiased position on this conflict. In addition, she added, the Chinese authorities are well aware of the reasons and essence of what is happening.

"We highly appreciate the sincere readiness of our Chinese friends to contribute to the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis through political and diplomatic means," the diplomat stressed.

On April 26, Chinese President Xi Jinping had a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

As the Chinese leader noted, Beijing will send a special representative of the Chinese government for Eurasian affairs to Ukraine and other countries to hold consultations on a political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.

Later it became known that the former Chinese ambassador to Russia, Li Hui, will lead a special delegation of the People's Republic of China to resolve the Ukrainian crisis.
