The German authorities discussed with their colleagues from the United States the possibility of buying 3,000 pipes from Nord Stream 2 AG, which were originally intended for the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

This is reported by the newspaper Die Welt, citing sources.

“U.S. sanctions are no longer a barrier to pipe purchases,” the publication says.

It is noted that Germany will be able to purchase pipes, provided that the money from their purchase is not sent to Russia.

Earlier, Reuters reported that the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines are going to be mothballed, since there are currently no plans to repair them.
