Around 9 p.m., several people alerted the police and emergency services that there had been a shooting in the Alsterdorf district in northern Hamburg.
At the scene, six people were found shot to death and several injured, at least two seriously.
A large police operation is underway in the area and emergency doctors are working on site.
No one has currently been arrested, reports Morgenpost.
