MDU invests in nursing education: "The patient's needs as a starting point"

Mälardalen University, MDU, is offering a new specialist nursing education with a focus on primary care in the autumn. It is designed on the government's healthcare reform "Good and close care", an investment in primary care, which aims to adapt based on the patient's needs.

- Our idea is to equip the nurses so that they can partly work person-centredly based on the patient's needs and partly contribute to developing care in line with the reform, says Lena Wiklund Gustin, professor and subject representative in nursing science, MDU.

The one-year specialist training will be divided into three different specializations: child health care and student health, health center and home health care.
