UNICEF: Syrians need water and food, there is a risk of an epidemic

Ammar Ammar, a representative of the UNICEF regional office for the Middle East and North Africa, said that after the earthquake, the Syrians first of all need drinking water and food, there is a risk of an epidemic in the areas affected by the disaster.


It is reported by TASS with reference to the Al Jazeera TV channel.

“We fear an outbreak that could affect millions of people if we don’t take action now,” Ammar said.

He added that the Syrian people are in need of all kinds of assistance, but drinking water and food are the top priorities today.

In Syria, the earthquake, according to the latest data, killed 1387 people.

It was also reported that foreign organizations are evading assistance to the people of Syria.
