The head of the Syrian Organization for Family Affairs, Samar al-Sibai, said that the population of Syria is about 22.5 million people, including due to the return of refugees.

“22 million 500 thousand people live in Syria,” RIA Novosti quotes her.

She clarified that these data are based on estimates from the National Center for Statistics.

The state is being restored, which means the return of the inhabitants, said al-Sibai.

She added that there is no mass exodus of residents, contrary to the assertions of a number of media outlets.

On January 18, it became known that India could overtake China in terms of population during 2023.
