The Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi is organizing the third Abu Dhabi Manuscripts Conference, under the slogan "The Journey of Arabic Manuscripts from East to West... Italy and Spain as a Model", in cooperation with the Marciana Library of the Italian Ministry of Culture, the Italian University of Bologna Library, the National Library of Spain, and the Spanish Escorial Library. Over the next two days at Manarat Al Saadiyat.
A group of scholars, specialists and experts in the fields of manuscripts from Spain, Italy and various parts of the Arab world will participate in the conference, seeking to shed light on the prominent civilizational and cultural role played by the United Arab Emirates and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in particular in the field of preserving and disseminating the authentic Arab heritage.
Saud Abdulaziz Al Hosani, Undersecretary of the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, said: “We continue our efforts in the department aimed at highlighting the role and importance of cultural and knowledge exchange as the main engine for the growth and progress of civilizations. Because it is rich in valuable topics that provide interest and clearly reflect the human depth of Arab and Islamic civilization.
And to consolidate the position of the emirate as a destination that welcomes the world and meets cultures and civilizations in its vastness to produce more diverse, aware and tolerant societies.
Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi will host, for a full month, the “Pearls of Wisdom” exhibition accompanying the conference, from today until January 6, 2023, to display valuable manuscripts in the field of literature, heritage, religion, music, philosophy, and science.
