In the event of an increase in Fed rates, the US economy "will burst at the seams," said investment strategist Pavel Veryovkin.

“I believe that at a five percent rate, the US financial system will begin to burst at the seams,” Veryovkin said in an interview with the Prime agency.

He noted that American investors do not count on relief from the Fed, since the US authorities in the current situation can only raise rates in response to rising inflation.

On November 2, the US Federal Reserve raised its base rate by 75 basis points to 3.75-4%.

US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell spoke about the possibility of a recession in the US.
