Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Geneva Headquarters Gennady Gatilov said that at the moment there is no platform for negotiations on the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, since there are no active proposals from Kyiv.

“There are no active proposals that could be taken as a basis for subsequent political contacts,” he said in an interview with Izvestia.

Gatilov stressed that Russia would not accept the position of Kyiv, which is to launch the negotiation process only after the withdrawal of Russian troops.

According to him, this cannot be "the starting point for negotiations."

Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian leader, Dmitry Peskov, stressed that the West should know about the readiness of Russian President Vladimir Putin for negotiations, he constantly talks about this.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he did not want to engage in dialogue with the Russian authorities regarding the settlement of the situation in Ukraine.
