The Ukrainian crisis led to a catastrophic weakening of the European Union, and EU leaders were unable to prevent this, said Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó. He expressed this opinion while speaking at the Open Balkans summit in Belgrade.

Economic influence and a devastating energy crisis have led to a "catastrophic weakening of Europe and the European Union," the minister said.

“Sitting at this table, we must tell the truth, and the truth is that the leaders of the European Union have not been able to protect the people in Europe from paying the bills of a war for which they are not responsible at all,” Szijjarto TASS quotes.
