Kona electric car fire in Taean, Chungcheongnam-do... vehicle burnout

Yesterday around 6:49 PM, on a road in Taean-eup, Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, a fire broke out in the Hyundai Kona Electric driven by Mr. Lee. The fire burned down this 2020 electric vehicle, causing 28 million won in damage and was extinguished in 30 minutes.


Yesterday (11th) around 6:49 pm on a road in Taean-eup, Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, a Hyundai Kona Electric (EV) driven by Lee Mo (26) caught on fire.



The fire burned down this 2020 electric vehicle, causing 28 million won (fire department estimate) damage and was extinguished in 30 minutes.



Lee called 911, saying, "I thought the car was on fire while driving, so I stopped and looked at it and saw smoke and flames under the seat."



Police and fire departments are investigating the exact cause of the fire.



Recently, there has been a series of fires in the Kona Electric Vehicle, increasing consumer anxiety.
