April 14, 2021 The Commission reached an agreement with Pfizer to accelerate the procurement of vaccines, with 50 million additional doses delivered in the second quarter, starting in April.



They will be distributed on the basis of the population. The president of the EU Commission Ursula von der Leyen said this.



"Those 50 million doses were originally scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2021. They are now available in the second quarter," the commission president announced.
